Dear Bay Area Dance Community and Friends from Around the World,
We were very sad to hear that the city of San Francisco is officially banning all large events with over 1000 people due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. We have been monitoring developments, hoping for good news. But we cannot bear to wait any longer. Acting quickly is critical in combating the spread of this virus. So with great sadness, we have decided to cancel the 2020 San Francisco Salsa Festival and postpone until next year.
Please know that we plan to resume the festival in 2021 and have rescheduled the artists and bands, including LA-33. Our new dates will be April 22-24, 2021. Those of you who have already bought tickets online will be receiving an email from Eventbrite soon concerning refunds. Rest assured that you will be entitled to a full refund of your ticket purchases or you can choose to keep your tickets for next year.
We’re heartbroken that we won’t be able to celebrate with you next month, but the level of risk for our dance community is too high for our comfort level. Thank you so much for understanding and feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. We hope everyone stays healthy and we will see you again at the festival next year!
Much love,
John and Liz
